TC Weber Backplate

TwinCam Weber Backplate with throttle cable bracket. 
With this plate you can use the original throttle linkage and return spring,  and mount whatever air filter you want. We can suppy the levers, spring and cable barrel if needed. 
Or use this part to fabricate your own custom airbox. 

Since the Low-Profile Weber Throttle Linkage that we used to sell is out of production we have made these backplates with brackets. Now you can fit throttle linkage to your Elan that will not interfere with the bonnet lid. And of course it will work on any other TwinCam engine with Weber carbs.

Use the throttle levers, barrel and return spring shown below to make a complete new linkage assembly. 

Weber DCOE carbs mounted to the TwinCam head use these throttle levers. The accelerator cable barrel fits into the double-loop at the end of 26S0027 lever.

Used on any TwinCam with Weber carbs and the original Lotus linkage system. Note that the original linkage system utilizes a bracket on the airbox backplate to anchor one leg of this spring along with the end of the throttle cable. This spring will NOT work without the airbox backplate.

Top-mounted throttle linkage for twin Weber DCOE carbs.  Aluminum mounting bases attach to carburetor tops with long screws supplied in the kit.  The aluminum pivoting quadrant has a phosphor bronze bush for long life, and the pushrod arm uses spherical bearings for smooth throttle actuation.  Twin return springs ensure positive throttle closure.  Can be used with one or two cables; 48" throttle cables included. 
This throttle linkage system is designed with strength, durability and smooth operation in mind, and it is very similar to linkages found on many historic racecars.

Top-mounted throttle linkage for twin Weber DCOE carbs.  The cable pulls in line with the engine.  Simple all metal construction, no plastic bits to twist and break.  Steel base plates attach to carburetor tops using the existing screws, and the adjustable pushrod attaches to the LH throttle lever.  Twin return springs attach to the aluminum quadrant to ensure positive throttle closure.  Can be used with one or two cables; 48" throttle cables included.

Cable Adjuster

Adjust the length of the outer cable sheath to remove free-play, this adjuster also serves the purpose of securely mounting/locating the throttle cable.
